Vorshlag SCCA Club Spec Porsche 718 Camber Plates (x73) OLD SPEC!

Vorshlag is excited to be the supplier for the SCCA Club Spec Porsche camber plates.

Special Notes Added for August 2026, after a 718 Club Spec class rules revision:

This camber plates entry is for the OLD Club Spec ruleset, which was the Porsche x73 suspension (see below). This x73 suspension + Vorshlag camber plate will be legal for the 718 Club Spec class for the 2027 season but beyond that is yet to be determined. PLEASE check with us if you are unsure of what you have, or what your plans are, before purchasing this x73 kit or these camber plates.

The camber plate conversion parts needed to convert from the OEM style perch (x73) upper perch to the 2.5" coilover perch (for the Ohlins kit) is costly. The Porsche x73 suspension has been superseded in the 718 Club Spec class by the Ohlins R&T suspension [POSY00S1], which we also sell as a package in this section.

=====

Our development car below was used as the model for the original x73 718 Club Spec suspension (2025-26), and our camber plates have been great on this car since we installed them in May of 2024.

Safeplace Automotive projectPBR 718

When the folks at Safeplace Automotive said they would let us test out a new camber plate design on their 718, we took them up on their offer - and brought their 2018 Cayman into Vorshlag. We immediately did a spot check of the alignment settings, then took the front suspension apart, and developed our camber plate solution.

And not too surprisingly, we found a lot more camber that was being left on the table by the other solutions out there - mostly due to shortcuts to make a cheaper camber plate design. Where the other guys are lucky to get your Porsche -3.0 degrees of camber on the OEM suspension with their top mounts, the Vorshlag design allows for up to -4.0 degrees of front camber with stock springs, stock struts and unaltered ride height.

Camber adjusted max

Note: Track side camber adjustment is easy, and our over-sized spherical bearings are designed to withstand the rigors of street and track abuse. The large sealed radial bearing allows the spring perch to rotate instead of relying on the spherical to spin within the bearing holder (which would wear it out quickly - like most competing designs). All of our components are plated for maximum corrosion resistance and long life.

  • Compatible with the x73 optional SCCA 718 Club Spec suspension (see notes above, this is legal for the 2027 season only, for now)
  • This x73 camber plate is very different than the one for the 2027 718 Club Spec class, which uses an Ohlins R&T suspension [POSY00S1] with our 2.5" upper spring perch.
  • Installs with hand tools and an impact gun, no chassis modifications required.
  • Camber is easily adjustable at the track with simple hand tools (1/4" hex wrench sold separately in this car's Suspension section)
  • The spherical bearing used in the Vorshlag camber plate is the largest used in any Porsche camber plate on the market. The result has much better durability and wear characteristics than the undersized bearings used in our competitors' plates.
  • Aluminum alloy main plate and steel alloy bearing holder construction - Tough as a tank!
  • Sealed radial ball bearings isolate steering movement from spherical bearing
  • All components machined in-house at Vorshlag on our CNC machines
  • All components plated or anodized for maximum corrosion resistance and long life.

Note: The 718 Club Spec struts require the use of custom machined long reach strut top nut (see below left) instead of the factory-provided Nylock top nut. This ensures full thread engagement for safe usage on a short upper stem strut like the OEM use.

These Vorshlag built nuts are included and should be installed with a drop of Blue Loctite on the threads, then installed with an impact wrench using the "pulse" method.
