Vorshlag is primarily a performance automotive suspension manufacturer and reseller. We are well known for making Vorshlag spherical top mount camber plates and shock mounts - which many consider the best in the world, and we sell thousands of sets per year. Being in this line of work we also see a large variety of shocks and struts from all damper companies, and we have been developing, building, repairing, testing, racing with and selling monotube dampers for over a decade.
Vorshlag Motorsports has become known for selling high quality monotube dampers for street driven, autocross, rally and road course driven vehicles. We have tested and raced with virtually all modern shocks and have chosen to sell what we feel are the brands with the best combination of strengths. We work with racers and dual purpose car owners in every racing class in motorsports, from rally to autocross, time trial to club racing, and hill climb to land speed racing. If you have unusual needs, we even have unusual solutions.
Bilstein: In 2012 Vorshlag became one of a very small number of Bilstein Motorsports dealers in the USA, which gives us access to the full line of their Bilstein OEM-style monotube shocks, their "tuner" line of PSS series shocks, as well as the Bilstein Motorsports line-up. These Motorsport models include offroad and racing shocks as well as shock components, to potentially make bespoke dampers. This can allow us to make one-off shocks, to help racers with cars that are not supported by the major manufacturers. Look for more exciting things from this line-up in the future.
MCS: In early 2013, Vorshlag became a dealer for Motion Control Suspensions (MCS). This company is run by the folks who ran Moton for 15 years, and JRZ before that. We have worked with MCS to develop new solutions and perfect existing fitments. We have installed their internal singles, internal doubles, and remote reservoir MCS shocks. We stock a number of their products as well.
Between these MCS, Bilstein, and Bilstein Motorsports brands we offer multiple shock options for most car models, with a full array of features and a wide spectrum of pricing. The various models are listed in a bit more detail below. If this is a bit overwhelming, don't worry, we can help. Feel free to call and talk to one of our tech experts (972-422-7170) or e-mail us your questions to info@vorshlag.com.

The data below explains what brands and models we recommend for various racing classes and other uses, based on the many decades of racing experience by the folks here at Vorshlag. This listing includes the standard shock series that our various shock vendors build and import to North America, some of which are custom built to order. There are some other variations made for some custom applications, but most of what we sell falls into these categories. Please call or drop us a line if you don't see something you need among these models, or if you want to know more.
MCS Internal Singles (TT1)
|
» "Time Trial 1-way" or TT1 model, large car model coverage » Superior MCS upper guide assembly provides lateral stiffness and seal longevity »Ideal for street and track use » Modular design - Most upgradeable to TT2 spec, all to RR2 or RR3 spec » Rebound Adjustable ("Singles"), without reservoir » These models will NOT have remote reservoirs, for easier installation and ower costs » 22mm diameter shaft struts, 14mm shock shafts (on most models) » Nickel plated alloy steel strut housings for corrosion resistance » Aluminum cylinder, threaded body shocks normally with the factory mounting style (eye, pin, etc) » Includes spherical lower on "eye" shock mounts |
MCS Internal Doubles (TT2)
|
» "Time Trial 2-way" or TT2 model » Superior MCS upper guide assembly provides lateral stiffness and seal longevity »Ideal for track use when remote reservoir shocks are banned or detrimental » Modular design - Upgradeable to RR2 or RR3 spec » Separate Rebound and Compression Adjustments ("Doubles"), via a knob and "2-way shaft" (see video demo) » These models will NOT have remote reservoirs, for easier installation and ower costs » 22mm diameter shaft struts, 14mm shock shafts (on most models) » Nickle plated alloy steel strut housings for corrosion resistance » Aluminum cylinder, threaded body shocks normally with the factory mounting style (eye, pin, etc) » Includes spherical lower on "eye" shock mounts |
MCS Remote Doubles (RR2)
|
» "Road Race 2-way" or RR2 model (can also stand for "Remote Reservoir") » Superior MCS upper guide assembly provides lateral stiffness and seal longevity »Ideal for track use when rules allow remote reservoirs » Rebound and Compression Adjustable with separate canisters ("Remote Reservoir Doubles"), separate Rebound and Compression knobs » Remote reservoir allows maximum stroke possible in shortened housings » 22mm diameter shock and strut shafts » Nickle plated alloy steel strut housings for corrosion resistance » Aluminum cylinder, threaded body shocks normally with custom mounting » Custom fitments for most cars |
MCS Remote Triples (RR3)
|
» "Road Race 3-way" or RR3 model » Superior MCS upper guide assembly provides lateral stiffness and seal longevity »Ideal for track use when rules allow remote reservoirs » Rebound, Low Speed Compression, and High Speed Compression Adjustable with separate canisters ("Remote Reservoir Triples"), separate knobs for each » Remote reservoir allows maximum stroke possible in shortened housings » 22mm diameter shock and strut shafts » Nickel plated alloy steel strut housings for corrosion resistance » Aluminum cylinder, threaded body shocks normally with custom mounting » Custom fitments for most cars |
Bilstein Sport
|
» High quality OEM replacement monotube non-adjustable shocks and struts. » Proven inverted strut design with 36mm pistons and 40mm shafts, very durable, great ride quality and good handling w/o adjusters » Works with OEM or OEM diameter (lowering) springs. Can be converted to coilover springs but it takes significant effort and additional parts » Often includes shorter shock and/or strut bodies, depending on make/model application » Lower cost option that are often used as a stepping stone between OEM twin tube shocks and adjustable monotube coilovers |
Bilstein PSS/PSS9/PSS10 Bilstein Clubsport/MDS
|
» Perfect fitment right out of the box. Fully developed system including springs and dampers; some kits include new top mounts » Proven inverted coilover strut design with 36mm pistons and 40mm shafts, very durable, great ride quality and good handling w/o adjusters » Adjustable lower perch adjusts from stock as much as 60mm lower, but ideal for 30-40mm lower (shorter shock and strut bodies) » Triple layer encapsulated zinc external coating that is extremely corrosion resistant » Systematic feature progression from street to time-trial use (PSS -> PSS9 -> PSS10) » » Bilstein PSS- is height adjustable, designed for street use » » Bilstein PSS9- 9-position combination rebound and compression adjustment, height adjustment, designed for street and track use » » Bilstein PSS10: 10-position combination rebound and compression adjustment, height adjustable, designed for street and track use » » Bilstein Clubsport- 10-position separate compression and rebound adjustment, height adjustable, designed for track use » » Bilstein Motorsports MDS- 2-way adjustable, non-remote reservoir monotube dampers, height adjustable, designed for serious track use » Medium to Higher cost options.
