R & D Engineer / Suspension Designer / Operations Support
Vorshlag has a need for an additional in-house engineer to help design variety of suspension and other related automotive components. We need help to:
- Create, develop and help machine and build new product designs
- Make updates and revisions to existing designs and drawings
- Obtain quotes from outside vendors for laser cutting, materials, and tooling
- Help managing production schedules in-house for our CNC machining, CNC cutting, and fabricaiton
Who We Are Looking For
We are looking for talented, passionate gearheads who want a career, not just a job. If you have experience in CNC machining, precision fabrication, or high-level suspension tuning, you'll fit right in.
This position is best suited for a degreed engineering applicant who also has hands on knowledge with automotive systems, especially suspension. We have some significant suspension development projects coming up that will be a big part of the next 2 years of engineering work. This position really is for an applicant who wants to work in Motorsports and get experience designing and building suspension parts for race cars.
This is for a Full Time position that can work at our Princeton, TX facility. Work is 100% in person, Monday-Friday, 8-5, no overtime required.
Skills Needed:
- CAD experience is a must, and we can help with training on Solidworks and Fusion 360 if those packages are unfamiliar to you.
- Ability to measure components and chassis dimensions on cars tested in our shop, including 3D scanning (we can teach that, too!)
- Collaborate with other on-site engineers to complete various suspension component designs
- Interface with our CNC shop to supply CAD drawings and CAM programs for our machined products
- work with a production welder / plasma table operator to supply CAD drawings for CNC plasma cut parts
- Supervision of fabrication on suspension components and other items related to a race car
- Experience with motorsports and suspension design is a plus
Our Lead Engineer of 15 years carries a lot of these roles already, but he is retiring in 2027 - so the sooner we can get this R&D Engineer in place, the sooner they can help transition into that role.
Our team is small and everyone here wears multiple hats - this position would be no different. Everyone up front helps answer tech/sales calls when we get busy, and we always need extra eyes to verify order assemblies. There could be some track-side testing work when we are developing new component designs (usually 1 day every few months, at a race track where we have a membership). Actually turning designs and drawings into parts is going to be a part of this position - which is very fulfilling.
How To Apply
If you read this job listing and it sounds like your skill set, and you are passionate about motorsports, please e-mail us your cover letter and attach your resume (in MS-Word format or PDF) to hr@vorshlag.com. Thanks.
