Jobs At Vorshlag

Vorshlag Motorsports was founded in 2005 and specializes in designing and building automotive suspension products on our CNC machines and in our fabrication shop. We have also been developing LS V8 engine swaps since 2002, with many hundreds of engine swap kits sold for various BMW chassis, Toyota 86/FR-S/Subaru BRZ, and Mustangs. Vorshlag also builds race cars, performs suspension installations, and we tackle fabrication work. We scaled back on customer work in 2022 to focus more on new product development work, but still have a number of shop owned cars we are building.

Vorshlag is also a reseller of select brands of automotive products for both the car and driver. Much of the work we do and products we sell are geared toward sports cars used in autocrossing, track events / Time Trial / HPDE, hill climbs, rallycross, and W2W road racing. Our facility is located in Princeton where we have a clean, inviting, climate controlled, well lit shop with a great group of folks that makes for a fun place to work. You can read more about Vorshlag on our "About Us" page.

Our company has grown from a two person "after-hours" garage-based operation in 2005 to a full time sales/design/fab shop/manufacturing facility that has dealers all over the world. We moved to our current building in 2018 and we still need to add talented, passionate gear heads to our team as we grow. Tired of toiling away in a dead end position, working in a hot shop on boring cars - or working in an industry that you have zero passion for? How does "working with race cars", or "designing the best engineered suspension parts on the planet" for a living sound? See if your dream job is right here.

If you see one of our current openings below that fits your background, feel free to e-mail us a cover letter and attach a resume to hr@vorshlag.com. Please use the e-mail address shown - Thanks.

Engineer / Designer / Fabricator

This listing is open to degreed engineering applicants who also have some fabricaiton background and Motorsports experience. This is for an applicant who wants to work in Motorsports and get experience designing and building suspension parts for race cars.

Vorshlag has a need for an additional in-house engineer to help design a variety of suspension and other related automotive components. We need help to create, develop and build new product designs, updates and revisions to existing designs, and quoting with outside vendors for coating/plating/machining/laser cutting. CAD experience is a must, and we can help with training on Fusion 360 if that package is unfamiliar to you.
This is for a Full Time position that can work at our Princeton, TX facility. Work is 100% in person, Monday-Friday, 8-5, no overtime required. Skills Needed:

  • SolidWorks / Fusion 360 drafting experience
  • CAM programming in GibbsCAM or Fusion 360 is a plus
  • Measure components and chassis dimensions on cars tested in our shop
  • Work with other on-site engineers to complete various suspension component designs
  • Interface with our CNC shop to supply CAD drawings and CAM programs for our machined products
  • Interface with production welder / plasma table operator to supply CAD drawings and CAM programs for CNC plasma cut parts
  • You must have TIG and MIG welding experience. This is a job where you will build prototype parts!
  • Light fabrication of suspension components include working with our CNC plasma table and welding machines
  • Compensation would be appropriate to experience level and within racing industry norms
  • Experience with motorsports data logging or tuning is a plus
  • Motorsports Industry experience is required

Ours team is small and everyone here wears multiple hats - this position would be no different. Everyone helps answer tech/sales calls and builds orders when we are busy. There could be some track-side testing work when we are developing new component designs (usually 1 day a month or less, at a race track where we have a membership). Actually turning designs and drawings into parts is going to be a part of this position - hence the "fabrication" in the listing.

If you read this job listing and it sounds like your skill set, and you are passionate about motorsports, please e-mail us your cover letter and attach your resume (in MS-Word format or PDF) to hr@vorshlag.com. Thanks.
