Jobs At Vorshlag

Vorshlag Motorsports was founded in 2005 and specializes in designing and building automotive suspension products on our CNC machines and in our fabrication shop. We have also been developing various cross-make engine swaps since 2002, with many hundreds of engine swap kits sold for various BMW chassis, Toyota 86/FR-S/Subaru BRZ, and Mustangs. Vorshlag also builds race cars, performs suspension installations, and we tackle select fabrication jobs. We scaled back on "customer car work" in 2022 to focus more on new product development work, but always have a number of shop owned cars we are building for product development and competition use.

Vorshlag is also a reseller of select brands of automotive products for both the car and driver. Much of the work we do and products we sell are geared toward sports cars used in autocrossing, track events / Time Trial, hill climbs, rallycross, and W2W road racing. Our facility is located in Princeton, Texas at an undisclosed location (not open to the public - less distraction). We have a clean, inviting, climate controlled, well lit shop with a great group of folks that makes for a fun place to work. You can read more about Vorshlag on our "About Us" page.

Our company has grown from a two person "after-hours" garage-based operation in 2005 to a full time sales/design/fab shop/manufacturing facility that has dealers all over the world. We moved to our current building in 2018 and we still need to add talented, passionate gear heads to our team as we grow. Tired of toiling away in a dead end position, working in a hot shop on boring cars - or working in an industry that you have zero passion for? How does "working with race cars", or "designing the best engineered suspension parts on the planet" for a living sound? See if your dream job is right here.

If you see one of our current openings below that fits your background, feel free to e-mail us a cover letter and attach a resume to hr@vorshlag.com. Please use the e-mail address shown - Thanks.

R and D Engineer / Suspension Designer / Operations Support

This listing is a complicated one, and always tough to fill - because this person will need to be flexible and will tackle a lot of responsibilities. One part of the day you might be 3D scanning a car or component, then bringing it into CAD to make an solid model file. Sometimes you will help design a bracket, or turn a cardboard template into a DXF that gets cut on our CNC plasma table. On other days you might be interfacing with our CNC production room and our Operations Manager, helping with material or tooling orders, and deciding what is made next in our CNC and Fab departments. Heck, this position might spend some time in the CNC shop making some parts, or helping design some fixtures. There is some email and phone work, too - it is just a lot of things!

This position is best suited for a degreed engineering applicant who also has hands on knowledge with automotive systems, especially suspension. We have some BIG suspension development projects coming up that will be a big part of the next 2 years of engineering work. This position really is for an applicant who wants to work in Motorsports and get experience designing and building suspension parts for race cars.

Vorshlag has a need for an additional in-house engineer to help design variety of suspension and other related automotive components. We need help to create, develop and build new product designs, updates and revisions to existing designs, and quoting with outside vendors for coating/plating/machining/laser cutting. CAD experience is a must, and we can help with training on Fusion 360 if that package is unfamiliar to you.
This is for a Full Time position that can work at our Princeton, TX facility. Work is 100% in person, Monday-Friday, 8-5, no overtime required. Skills Needed:

  • SolidWorks / Fusion 360 drafting experience
  • Measure components and chassis dimensions on cars tested in our shop, including 3D scanning
  • Work with other on-site engineers to complete various suspension component designs
  • Interface with our CNC shop to supply CAD drawings and CAM programs for our machined products
  • Interface with production welder / plasma table operator to supply CAD drawings for CNC plasma cut parts
  • Supervision of fabrication on suspension components and other items related to a race car
  • Compensation would be appropriate to experience level and within racing industry norms
  • Experience with motorsports and suspension design is a plus

We have Lead Engineer with a lot of these roles already in place for going on 15 years, but he is retiring in 2027 - so the sooner we can get this new hire in place, the sooner they can help transition into that role.

Our team is small and everyone here wears multiple hats - this position would be no different. Everyone helps answer tech/sales calls when its busy, even verifies or builds orders when sometimes. There could be some track-side testing work when we are developing new component designs (usually 1 day every few months, usually at a race track where we have a membership). Actually turning designs and drawings into parts is going to be a part of this position - which is very fulfilling.

If you read this job listing and it sounds like your skill set, and you are passionate about motorsports, please e-mail us your cover letter and attach your resume (in MS-Word format or PDF) to hr@vorshlag.com. Thanks.

Production Welder + Assistant CNC Technician

We have lots of products we make that we need to have welded every day. This is down with both TIG and MIG welding machines, so you need to be proficient at both. The materials we use are carbon steel, aluminum, and stainless steel. Vorshlag has the welding machines, prep tools, and safety gear for use in this position.

This is for a Full Time position that can start now. Skills Needed:

  • Proficient in MIG & TIG welding. We will have a small welding test to show your skills during the interview.
  • Team player that can concentrate on the task at hand with efficiency and no outside distractions.
  • A passion for motorsports is always helpful
  • If you have no formal CNC training, don't worry, you will learn here. Part of this job is assisting in our CNC room
  • We also have a 5x10' CNC plasma table that this position will use regularly, to cut out production parts

This position wears a number of hats, and as you can see in the bullet points above we need more than "just a good welder", although that is the required skill set. This position will also be trained on the CNC plasma table, which we use to cut production parts that are then assembled / bent / welded. And we will also train this position on our three other CNC produciton machines, mostly loading parts and helping with production tasks under our head CNC programmer, when that room gets busy (which is a lot). So if you have any CNC experience, let us know, because about about half the time will be spent in there.

I assure you, whoever takes this position will learn a LOT and we make some pretty amazing products - you can work here and take pride in high quality, very functional Motorsports parts. If you like a challenge, and working in the motorsports industry excites you, please e-mail us your experience and résumé to hr@vorshlag.com.
