The Ohlins Road & Track kit is designed to offer a very high level of performance for both street driven vehicles, as well as offer the adjustability needed for track cars. These shocks are manually adjustable monotubes, with up to 20 individual settings to adjust rebound from comfort to competition. The threaded body allows accurate adjustability of the front and rear progressive springs to achieve the vehicle ride height center of gravity and level of performance handling desired. Ohlins Road & Track's can also be revalved, rebuilt, and can be supplied with various spring rates to meet your demands! Ohlins puts every one of their products through vast corrosion test according to ISO 9227. The end result is a 2-Year limited warranty on all of their products - worldwide.
We highly suggest adding Vorshlag camber plates for any track use, which gives more front alignment adjustment and saves tire wear on track. For the E46 non-M option, you MUST get the optional camber plates for them to work - we include a non-M E46 Vorshlag camber plate along with our Vorshlag E46 M3 style upper perch, which makes it all work with the Ohlins R&T front springs.

NOTES ON NON-M MODELS: This Ohlins kit is designed for the E46 M3, but Ohlins stopped selling the similar kit for the non-M E46 models (which had the same spring rates but difference front spring shape). . We have come up with a solution to make the "M3" kit fit the non-M cars.
This BMS Mi30S1 kit will work perfectly fine on the non-M models only if paired with Vorshlag E46 non-M camber plates and our Vorshlag E46 M# OEM style upper perches. If you choose the non-M option it will come with custom configured camber plates to mate the M3 kit to the non-M car and preserve the non-M geometry (hence the price jump).
CAMBER PLATES : We highly recommend Vorshlag camber plates be used with any Ohlins strut kit, but the shocks can be used with the OEM upper strut mount on the E46 M3 for racers on an extreme budget and/or where class rules do not allow an upper camber plate. Easily adjust camber track side with Vorshlag camber/caster plates. Over-sized spherical bearings are designed to withstand the rigors of street and track abuse. All components are plated for maximum corrosion resistance and long life. Please see the product entries on this website for more information about the Vorshlag camber plates and perches. Ordering this option includes the associated Vorshlag upper spring perches made to work with these plates.
As stated above you CAN use the OEM upper strut mount this this kit on the BMW E46 M3. On the E46 non-M it WILL NOT WORK unless we include our hybrid Vorshlag camber plate + upper spring perch solution.
REAR SHOCK MOUNTS : Vorshlag's Spherical Rear Shock Mounts (RSMs) for the BMW E30/36/46 are optional. Vorshlag's Spherical design is recommended for users that see any competition use, such as autocross or track events. The advantage to spherical RSMs is their ability to transmit reactions to shock forces instantly and direct - something that shows up on a shock dyno plot.
VORSHLAG RSM REINFORCEMENT KIT : Many BMW models are prone to cracks near the rear, upper shock mount bolt holes from both street/track use with higher cornering loads (and higher damper forces) as well as normal street use over extended time periods. Bolt these steel reinforcement plates on top of the rear shock tower sheet metal to strengthen this known weak area and prevent these cracks. Can be used with OEM style rubber RSMs or spherical RSMs. Can be bolted or welded in place. To install just place above the shock tower, underneath the RSM top nuts, as shown below - takes mere minutes to install and can be found HERE!
