This listing is for a 2007 Chevrolet Corvette Z6 that we bought in 2017 to build into a Time Attack car. We spent a lot of time and money on this in 2017-18, but we paused the build and after many years in storage it is for sale.
This is a clean Z06 aluminum framed chassis that is nt wrecked, just has some title issues that force it to a Bill of Sale. Don't expect to buy this and make it into a street car, but with enough effort a bonded title could be had. A key point for this chassis is the $10.3K in Anderson Composites new carbon bodywork that comes with tis car.
Did you know a C6Z only had carbon front fenders? This one has 4 carbon fenders, carbon doors, and a carbon roof. It also rolls and steers, with a new MOMO 320mm steering wheel and NRG quick release hub. The rest is pretty much as delivered from GM, with a lot of wiring and interior removed. Ready to build!

how this project started and stalled?
|
We bought this car in summer 2017 to be a "halo" project car for Vorshlag after our C4 Corvette (Project Dangerzone) had run its course. This C6Z was to be our next big build with a big cubic inch aluminum V8, big aero, minimal weight, and some radically unconventional suspension tasks. The best laid plans...
When we first saw this Z06 is was a complete, not wrecked car a local body shop bought from an insurance auction (long story) but it had some title issues, so he started taking the car apart for parts before I could pick it up. We brought it back to the shop missing some key parts, but spent the time and money to get it back together, strip the interior, and fix anything that was removed.
Things were progressing nicely in 2017 on this, but as we were starting to build our next shop some circumstances outside of our control drove this project off the rails and we never completed it. We spent the summer of 2017 and early months of 2018 working on this car, and were offered an exceptional deal on some carbon bodywork if we sent them the car for 6 months. After rounding up all of the exterior pieces needed for their work (spending thousands getting it ready for them), we loaded the car up in a transport in February of 2018. Sadly things were massively delayed and they were not ready to send it back until August of 2020.
During that 30 month gap we had already bought two other cars to build: a new 2018 Mustang GT that we ran in NASA for the 2018 and 2019 seasons, and then in August of 2019 a salvage S550 Mustang chassis, which we used to complete many of the plans made for the C6Z (Project Trigger). We also built a narrow body 2006 Corvette between the two S550 builds that we competed with. Since we had spent all of the time and money on the two S550 builds, and developed many of the C6 items we planned to build on the narrow body, this C6 Z06 chassis just sat and took up valuable inside storage space. In 2026 we made the decision to cancel this C6Z project and sell the chassis. We cleaned it up, finished a few details (shown below), and now it is ready for sale. If someone wants Vorshlag to build this chassis for them, we are open to that, but we mostly just need the room.

current exterior and interior pics

This section shows the current exterior and interior mods and pictures. A big part of this chassis is new carbon fiber bodywork from Anderson Composites - including all 4 fenders, doors and roof.
EXTERIOR - The exterior looks really good, with perfect carbon fenders / doors / roof that hasn't seen sunlight.
The hood is a solid 6 out of 10, the rear hatch is perfect, the front nose is a used Z06 cover, and the rear bumper cover is brand new from GM.
Below are pictures of the exterior carbon fiber panels - which is in perfect condition, and have never seen rain or sun.
If you add all of the carbon panels up it is $10,300 now, and the rest of the chassis is only $4700 more than that.
INTERIOR - The interior is mostly stripped, with the factory pedal box + steering column recently reinstalled. We also just installed a MOMO 320mm Alcantera steering wheel, NRG hub adapter and NRG 2.5 Quick Release hub. This was because we sold the stock steering wheel and now we can steer the chassis into the new buyer's trailer. We also reinstalled the stock dash and have many more interior parts that come with the purchase.

This section details the other components that come on this Z06 that you might not otherwise see on a semi-stripped "rolling chassis".
The factory Z06 rear differential is in the car, along with the transaxle, torque tube, and more. This was a low mileage car (26K) and it has been stored indoors since 2017. There is also a brand new Lexan rear window formed to fit the C6, but the glass window is installed and in great shape.
Below are some items we wanted to point out. The front of the all aluminum C6 Z06 chassis had the tips of the frame horse and the cross beam removed (again, it became a parts car due to title issues). We cleaned up and capped off the frame with aluminum plate that was TIG welded on.

Again, this is not a running car and due to the title issues it would be difficult to make a street car out of this. We have the right insurance / transfer paperwork for this, and the buyer will get a Bill of Sale.
