Vorshlag Camber Plates

Vorshlag Porsche 718/982 (Cayman/Boxster) Camber Plates & Coilover Perches

Vorshlag is almost never the "First mouse to the cheese", but if we get enough pressure from the racing community to make something for a given chassis, we will. The Porsche market has traditionally been one of those that is tough to crack into, with established brands and "ways of doing things" and a lot of "popular momentum". But we never let that keep us from going into a market.

The 718 Cayman & 982 Boxster have 6 or 7 existing options for front camber plates - and they all look nearly identical, and produce the same results. After our initial search we felt this was a car model that was ripe for something new...

Safeplace Automotive projectPBR 718

When the folks at Safeplace Automotive said they would let us test out a new camber plate design on their 718, we took them up on their offer - and brought their 2018 Cayman into Vorshlag. We immediately did a spot check of the alignment settings, then took the front suspension apart, started making chassis and strut measurements, and looked at an all new camber plate solution.

Long story short - our design offers more camber adjustment than anything else on the market. This version listed is for use with coilover springs, not the OEM spring or lowering springs used on OEM style struts. You can pick the coilover spring perch diameter below: 2.25", 60mm, or 2.5" inner diameter.

Camber adjusted max

Getting to more negative camber up front generally increases front grip and reduces tire wear, but if your Porsche is on coilovers you've already experienced some track performance gains already, so this is nothing new to you. We also make this for an OEM diameter spring, as a separate entry.

Note: Track side camber adjustment is easy, and our over-sized spherical bearings are designed to withstand the rigors of street and track abuse. The large sealed radial bearing allows the spring perch to rotate instead of relying on the spherical to spin within the bearing holder (which would wear it out quickly - like most competing designs). All of our components are plated for maximum corrosion resistance and long life.

  • Compatible with all most aftermarket struts and 3 sizes of coilover springs for 718/982
  • Works on the 718 Cayman and 982 Boxster
  • Installs with hand tools and an impact gun, no chassis modifications required.
  • Camber is easily adjustable at the track with simple hand tools (1/4" hex wrench sold separately in this car's Suspension section)
  • The spherical bearing used in the Vorshlag camber plate is the largest used in any Porsche camber plate on the market. The result has much better durability and wear characteristics than the undersized bearings used in our competitors' plates.
  • Aluminum alloy main plate and steel alloy bearing holder construction - Tough as a tank!
  • Sealed radial ball bearings in new upper spring perch isolate steering movement from spherical bearing.
  • All components machined in-house at Vorshlag on our CNC machines
  • All components plated or anodized for maximum corrosion resistance and long life.
  • Vorshlag upper spring perches are included and built to fit the coilover spring diameter that you choose.

Spring Perches: This catalog entry is for coilover struts and we make upper spring perches in 3 diameters: 2.25", 60mm, and 2.5". You have to know what you have or it will not fit - please don't just guess. We have another entry in this 718/982 Suspension section for the OEM diameter spring option.

Strut Style: Please pick the brand and type of strut your car has. As we get more of these out in the wild we will add more strut options.

If the brand of your strut isn't shown in the options, feel free to call us. Anytime a new Vorshlag design hits the track, we need input from the community on various aftermarket struts and their shaft profiles.  With new suspensions being released we need your help to ensure that new camber plates are being configured correctly.  For us that means we need to know the dimensions of the struts your using to build up a database, as we've done in the past with all the other camber plates we offer.  Please look at the photo below, this is an example of exactly what dimensions we are looking for.  If you are still not sure please contact us!
