Vorshlag Camber Plates

Vorshlag 6th Gen (2016+) Camaro Camber Plates for OEM style springs

We began testing a new design for the 6th generation Camaro in January 2019 and now have these in production for use with the OEM style spring on the OEM and optional Magneride struts.  These do NOT fit the Multimatic DSSV struts.

Like all of our designs, we made sure that the "stack-up height" of our camber plates + upper perches matched the OEM top mounts and perches, to nor raise or lower a car on the factory springs. We also kept the features of our other world renowned camber plates that make them so popular and reliable: our massive spherical bearing in the camber plate and our sealed double row radial ball bearing assembly in our included upper spring perch. This design allows for a large range of additional negative camber adjustment at the top, of course. And the OEM perch design will accept the factory rubber spring isolator.

If you can't easily salvage the isolators from your existing top mounts, you can order new isolators from GM. They are typically less than $5, GM part # 92271185.

With this design you can easily adjust camber track side, with simple hand tools (1/4" hex key wrench). Camber adjustment is about 2.5° of added negative camber over stock. Caster has two settings, which we recommend not setting track side.

Our over-sized spherical bearings are designed to withstand the rigors of street and track abuse. All of our components are plated for maximum corrosion resistance and long life. Read more about the engineering behind our camber plates here.

This design has been tested rigorously on multiple cars that see both street and track use. The Vorshlag 6th gen Camaro camber plate design uses our massive spherical bearing in the camber plate and our exclusive sealed double row radial bearing.

This entry includes a CNC machined upper spring perch, matched to the OEM spring diameter for the 6th Gen Camaro. These camber plates use NONE of the factory parts from the OEM top mount or spring perch aside from the isolator – just set them aside for if/when you ever take the car back to stock. And if you ever switch from an OEM style spring/strut to coilovers, the camber plate assembly can be easily converted with just a spring perch change.

While this was complicated to design and machine, installation is actually pretty easy. So is camber adjustment, which can be done track side in less than a minute per side – just raise a front corner (tire off the ground), loosen the 3 nuts that attach to our sliding stud plate, and slide the wheel inboard or outboard to change camber. Tighten these nuts, lower the car down, and hit the track. The face of the top plate has alignment reference marks for the pointer on the "top ring" to easily see the difference between your “Street” and “Race” alignments, too.

FEATURES

  • Compatible with all OEM diameter factory and aftermarket (lowering) springs for 6th Gen Camaro except the Multimatic DSSV springs
  • Accepts the factory rubber spring isolator on our OEM spring compatible perch
  • See separate entry for use with coilover spring sizes (2.25", 60mm, and 2.5" inner diameter)
  • Works on all 2016+ Camaro, SS, 1LE, ZL1 and Magneride models except the Multimatic DSSV struts
  • Installs with basic hand tools, no chassis modifications required.
  • Camber is adjustable up to an additional 2.5° negative beyond stock (OEM spring size limits inboard travel slightly compared to the generally smaller sized coilover springs).
  • Two caster settings
  • The spherical bearing used in the Vorshlag camber plate is the largest used in any 6th Gen camber plate on the market. The result has much better durability and wear characteristics than the undersized bearings used in some competitors' plates.
  • Aluminum alloy main plate and steel alloy bearing holder construction - Tough as a tank!
  • All components plated for maximum corrosion resistance and long life.
  • Vorshlag upper spring perches are included and built to fit the strut style (see "Strut Style" drop down option menu, below) you select.

NOTE: If you have a ZLE/1LE/PDQ version that has a bolt-on strut tower brace, it normally attaches to one of the 3 strut top mounting holes. You might need to slightly modify that 3rd hole per side to use the included nut and washer hardware. That brace is mostly cosmetic and not a crucial part of the chassis. You can take it off and your lap times will not change. Or you can open up the hole ever so slightly and fit the nut/washer included and accommodate it.

Strut Style: We need your help to ensure that your camber plates are being configured correctly to the "stem profile" of the strut shaft. This is usually accomplished by just picking your strut brand and model below.

Initially we are launching this camber plate for the 6th gen for use with the two main OEM struts we have seen and measured. The Magneride (electronically controlled) optional dampers shown above, and the non-Magneride dampers below. These require VERY different assortment of parts and the inverted Magneride strut needs some additional parts. We will add more struts as we encounter them. If you would like to add the GM spring insulator pad without salvaging it from your original top mounts, you can purchase GM part number 92271185 from your dealer.

If your strut brand is not listed, we will need to know the dimensions of the struts your using to add to our database. If you don't see your brand listed, please look at the photo below, which shows an example of exactly what dimensions we are looking for.  If you are still not sure please contact us!

These do NOT fit the Multimatic DSSV front struts. If you choose this option your camber plates will be delivered with a replacement pair of Motion Control Suspension TT2 2-Way Non-Remote struts and 600# springs.

Vorshlag branded products are built to order and most are tailored to match your specific application. We CNC machine parts in house, use outside vendors for platings/coatings and laser cut parts, and the bearings and hardware comes from various sources. Due to the myriad variety of components required for different applications, it is possible that delays can occur in the fulfillment of your order. Please contact us before placing your order if you have a time constraint.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

We have a number of instructional galleries for modern pony car camber plate installs, but only one for the 6th gen Camaro (click the image below):

This isn't as thorough of an instruction gallery as what we normally like to offer, but we just do not get a lot of Camaro work at our shop. This gallery above does show the necessary steps for the Camaro, but you can look at this S550 Mustang install for more thorough captions (click the image below):

It might not seem logical, but the 6th gen Camaro and 6th gen Mustang (S550) are more like than they are different! Please look at the S550 gallery for more tricks and tips, and the Camaro gallery for Camaro specific pictures. The both bolt on in the exact same way.
