Introduction

Vorshlag Motorsports is proud to offer the full line of Ohlins Road & Track Coilovers.  The Road & Track series of monotube dampers has the quality, technology, and performance we look for here at Vorshlag, we won't just sell any damper! Ohlins has been involved in racing for over 30 years and that knowledge and commitment to providing high-end damper solutions can be found in each of their products.    

The Ohlins Road & Track kit is designed to offer a very high level of performance for both street driven vehicles, as well as offer the adjustability needed for track cars. These shocks are manually adjustable monotubes, with up to 20 individual settings to adjust rebound from comfort to competition. The threaded body allows accurate adjustability of the front and rear progressive springs to achieve the vehicle ride height center of gravity and level of performance handling desired. Ohlins Road & Track's can also be revalved, rebuilt, and can be supplied with various spring rates to meet your demands!  Ohlins puts every one of their products through vast corrosion test according to ISO 9227.  The end result is a 2-Year limited warranty on all of their products - worldwide. 

This kit fits the 1996-2004 Porsche 986 Cayman/Boxster and the 2005-12 Porsche 987 Cayman/Boxster. It comes with Front 70N/mm & Rear 80N/mm coilover springs, and with no options includes all of the parts shown above. There are some additional small pieces that are only used on the 986, and other parts that only fit the 987 versions - all of these small pieces are included and the instructions are very detailed and explanatory about what goes with what car model.

We highly suggest adding the optional Vorshlag camber plates for any road course or autocross use, which gives more front alignment adjustment and saves tire wear on track. We can also supply the rear top mounts necessary for the 986 or 987. Please see below for these two separate options.

CAMBER PLATES : We highly recommend Vorshlag camber plates be used with Ohlins strut kits, but the shocks can be used with the OEM upper strut mount for racers on an extreme budget and/or where class rules do not allow an upper camber plate (such as SCCA Stock Class). Easily adjust camber track side with Vorshlag camber/caster plates. Over-sized spherical bearings are designed to withstand the rigors of street and track abuse. All components are plated for maximum corrosion resistance and long life. Please see the product entries on this website for more information about the Vorshlag camber plates and perches. Ordering this option includes the associated Vorshlag upper spring perches made to work with these plates.

REAR SHOCK MOUNTS : You can re-use the OEM rear top mounts to save a little money, but they might be worn and removing those requires extra work. Optional Rear Upper Shock Mounts include a Vorshlag can supply a pair of new Porsche top mounts, or spherical Ohlins top mounts. Ordering either option means that the rear dampers, springs, and top mounts can be pre-installed and torqued here by Vorshlag - which makes the rear damper assembly ready to install. Saves time and no spring compressor is needed. 

 

Above shows the new Porsche OEM top mouint pre-installed, which is one option for the rear. There is an optional spherical rear upper shock mount available from Ohlins, shown here.

A spherical top mount is always preferred for track use, but as it takes a load of rubber out of the damper path. But this might not suit everyone in a 100% street car. The choice is yours - there are more pictures below and in this entry showing this option.
