This cart entry is for the complete transmission crossmember assembly built by Vorshlag Motorsports for use with the 2005-2014 "S197" or 2015-up "S550" Mustang chassis for use with our LS swap kit. This can be used with one transmission only: a T56 Magnum XL 6-spd transmission. This crossmember is made to work with any LSx V8 in using Vorshlag S197/S550 LS swap engine mounts and Vorshlag LS197 or LS550 long tube headers. 


This entry includes the fabricated transmission crossmember plus an Energy Suspensions polyurethane trans mount bushing. This crossmember is made in-house using CNC cut plate steel that is fitted together then TIG welded on our production fixtures, and powder coated black. This is 100% made in-house at Vorshlag.



You can see how tight the pieces fit together, above. Once these are welded on our welding fixture, the assembly is powder coated black. We designed this Transmission Crossmember Kit to be used with our S197/S550  LS Motor Mount Kit and LS197 or LS550 long tube stainless headers - for the proper engine and transmission placement and driveline angles.

IDENTIFY YOUR TRANSMISSION

Only one 6-speed transmissions is supported in our LS / T56 S197/S550 swap. Lots of people like to call the various GM 6-speed manual transmissions "T56" and the name "Magnum" is thrown around by transmission rebuilders. A brand new "Tremec T56 Magnum XL"is rated at 700 ft-lbs of torque and has to be custom built to work with the GM pilot bearing.

This T56 Magnum XL is "Extra Long" - longer than a T56 Magnum by almost 6 inches - which lines up perfectly with the "firewall-to-shifter" spacing on the S197 or S550 Mustang. When designing this swap kit we tested a T56 Magnum (normal length) and 1998-2002 Camaro T56 - they were both much too short to fit this chassis.

This is a brand new, custom built "Tremec T56 Magnum XL" 6-speed Transmission

Once more: Our transmission crossmember fits the mounting holes and shifter location of the S197 and S550 chassis with a custom built T56 Magnum XL made for GM LS use, available for sale in this section - not anything else yet. Not an automatic, not a 5th gen Camaro TR6060, not a GTO or Cadillac remote shifted box, not some random other transmission
