Sparco Circuit Fixed Back Racing Seat


Introduction

The Circuit LF is an ultra-light competition seat specifically designed for circuit use. Made from aramadic fiber-reinforced fiberglass, the Circuit has an ultra-light shell. The Circuit LF includes integrated bolsters to protect the head and a unique seat design that helps separate the driver’s leg. This seat can be used with a Hans device for even greater protection. The ultra-light shell is then wrapped in an impact-absorbing and fire retardant fabric that helps hold the body. The Circuit is FIA approved. 

Please call Vorshlag for sizing and mounting guidance before ordering, but know that the Circuit II fits most adults and the Circuit I is VERY VERY SMALL. The Circuit's split base cushion offers excellent flexibility and comfort, and this pad plus the back pad can be swapped out with other options from Sparco for a personalized fit. The Circuit seat features impact absorption material in important areas, self extinguishing fabric and special non slip material in critical areas. The shell is the new Ultra-light fiberglass composite shell. The weights shown on most websites do not include the padding and cover, however, so we have weighed the Circuit II and share that below.

Like virtually all composite, fixed mount, FIA racing seats these Circuit models are side-mount seats. This means you will need to purchase side mount brackets to begin to mount these into a car. Of course Sparco wants you to use their side brackets, but we have found better luck with OMP steel short side brackets, which we have listed in this same section. Even with those we still usually have to modify the side brackets to get seats low enough.

Most cars don't have a flat floor to bolt the side brackets to so we usually end up making adapter "sub-brackets" for the side mounts (with flat bottoms) to bolt to, so everything lines up with the chassis floor. Sometimes we will mount the anchors for the lap and/or anti-sub brackets to this sub-bracket (see above right). You want a slider, too? That's even more work and more parts. We budget 3-4 hours to fixed mount a seat and 4-5 hours to mount one with a slider, in most cars. For small cabin cars like Miatas, Corvettes, and Elises - double that time estimate.
