Introduction
The AiM SOLO lap timer is two tools in one for a great price: Lap Timer and Data Logger. The SOLO is a completely automatic lap timer based on GPS technology, with pre-programmed tracks for most road courses in the world. Using its GPS based location, it identifies the finish line coordinates and automatically starts sampling and displaying lap times. All you need to do is turn it on before you head out on track and the SOLO takes care of the rest!
The AiM SOILO can be used in all of your performance situations: circuits, hill climbs, regularity, point to point races (autocross), and general performance tests (0-60 mph, 1/4 mile, braking, etc).
The SOLO displays and records speed, GPS location (your driving line), lateral accelerations, forward acceleration, braking... all of the data you need while racing. You can review your data immediately after each session, this helps you analyze and improve your performance. Or you can overlay this data onto your in-car video, to use for analysis at a later time (see AiM SOLO DL and SmartyCam HD for real time data + video overlays!)
Find Your Track with the Powerful GPS Technology
The most important feature of Solo real time display of your lap times. When Solo is powered up, it automatically recognizes the start/finish line coordinates of the track you are visiting based on the huge list of World tracks stored on Solo's internal memory, this allows very precise lap times with very little effort. You can look at your static lap time or better yet, the Predictive lap time. After your first lap is taken the SOLO predicts each successive lap with the Predictive Lap Time feature, showing you in real time if you are faster or slower than before. Even when showing Predictive times at full size on the LCD screen the actual measured lap time will show on the display as you pass the Start/Finish line for several seconds. With the many screen configurations you can also show 1, 2 or 3 lap counters at once... a popular option is to show your Best, Last, and Predictive lap timers as well as a lap counter on the same screen.
Select Your Race Mode
With a simple keyboard configuration Solo can manage four different forms of motorsports: speed races in a closed circuit, point-to-point races, regularity and performance tests. In all of these different situations Solo gives the proper information during the test and powerful data review immediately after each session.
Choose Your Lap Time Mode: Solo is fully configurable and includes different lap time display modes.
- Rolling lap time
- Static lap time
- Predictive lap time, calculated during the current lap (see below, Left)
- Predictive lap time, calculated as difference between the above and the best lap (see below, Right)
- Best lap
Data Download to Your PC
You can at any time recall and review the recorded data, in a very simple way. Connecting Solo to your PC, your data can be analyzed and shown in tables, graphs and histograms using the powerful Race Studio 2 professional software, which is included with Solo.
